Salar tiles are manufactured by a mixture characterized by a high percentage of stone chips, having a continuous grading, immerse in a very thick cement bonding paste. Thanks to the use of the Terastone® system technology, the water/cement ratio employed in the preparation of the mixture is kept to very low values, even below 0.30. In the manufacturing process, aggregates, water and cement are used with no addition of resin or other organic binders. The BRETON TERASTONE® SYSTEM technology employes the process of "VIBROCOMPACTION UNDER VACUUM" to fabricate thin, monolayer tiles with outstanding physical and mechanical characteristics. Our tile is a thin and light-weight cement tile with a high density of continuous grading aggregates, wich differs from terrazzo because of its beauty and elegance, TERASTONE® takes its characteristics from the vacuum vibration that makes possible the optimal arrangement of the aggregates in the cement batch to achieve their best concentration, removing any possible microporosity. The low water/cement ratio (0,28..;. 0,32) enhances the physical-mechanical characteristics of the product.
